The experience
The tour leaves from Kotor and heads straight into the bay's highlights. Your skipper navigates to the Blue Cave first, where the water turns turquoise and you have free time to swim in front of the cave mouth. The natural phenomenon is caused by the way light and waves have shaped the coastline over years. Masks for diving are on board, so you can see below the surface without extra gear.
From there the boat passes Mamula, an old Austro-Hungarian fortress built on an island at the bay's entrance. During Yugoslavia it served as a prison. You'll stop at one of three old submarine tunnels (relics from when the Yugoslavian fleet used them for shelter) for photos. Our Lady of the Rocks comes next, a man-made island in the heart of the bay with a church and stories tied to local history and legend. The route wraps through Perast, a baroque village lined with 17th-century captains' palaces, where restaurants sit right by the water.
Because it's private, you can add stops: a tasting at a mussel plantation, a meal at one of the bay's restaurants, or extra time for swimming and diving. WiFi and bottled water are on board. The skipper speaks English and knows the bay's history. The stories behind each stop are part of what makes the three hours feel full.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the Blue Cave like when we get there?
The Blue Cave is a natural opening in the coastline where turquoise water and intact rock formations make it visually striking. You'll have free time to swim in front of the cave entrance, and masks for diving are provided so you can see into the water.
Can we stop to eat or drink during the tour?
Yes. The tour is private and customizable, so you can add a meal stop at one of the bay's restaurants or a tasting at a mussel plantation. These are not included in the base tour but can be arranged when you book.
What is Our Lady of the Rocks?
Our Lady of the Rocks is an artificial island built in the middle of Kotor Bay with a church on it. It holds local legends about its builders and reflects the history and customs of the area.
How many people can fit on the boat?
The speedboat holds up to eight passengers, so it works for families, small groups or solo travelers who want a private tour.
Will we actually go inside the submarine tunnels?
You'll stop at one of the three old Yugoslavian submarine tunnels for photos. These were used to shelter the submarine fleet during Yugoslavia, and the stop is brief. It's a photo opportunity rather than an extended exploration.
