The experience
The boat leaves from Kotor Old Town Port, just across the main gates, and heads straight for the Blue Cave. You get 30 minutes to swim inside it and take photos in the clear water: the cave's the draw, and the skipper times the stop so you're not rushed. After that, the route swings past Zanjic beach for a break in the scenery, then past Mamula, a natural island sitting at the entrance to Boka Bay where you can see the whole opening to the sea.
Our Lady of the Rocks comes next: a small island with a church and museum (entry to the museum costs extra and is up to you). Perast Old Town, a UNESCO-protected settlement across the water, is the last stop before the boat turns back to port. The whole tour runs four hours, which is long enough to see the bay's signature spots without eating your whole day. You're back by early afternoon.
The boat is yours alone. No other groups board it. The skipper speaks English and knows the water. Soda, bottled water and WiFi are on board. Fuel and insurance are covered in the price. Infants sit on an adult's lap. The tour suits all fitness levels, though swimming in the cave is optional. You can stay on deck if you prefer.

Top questions
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the Blue Cave actually like when you swim inside it?
The Blue Cave is a sea cave on the Adriatic coast where light reflects off the water and the rock walls, creating the blue effect the name describes. You get 30 minutes there to swim and photograph it, and the skipper times the visit so the cave isn't crowded.
Is the four-hour tour enough time to actually swim and see everything, or does it feel rushed?
The four hours include the boat ride between stops and the 30-minute swim in the Blue Cave. The route also includes a break at Zanjic beach and a panoramic pass of Mamula Island, so the pace is built around seeing the main sites without large crowds. The tour is designed for travelers who want the iconic spots in a short time.
Do you need to pay extra to go inside the church on Our Lady of the Rocks?
Entry to the church and museum on Our Lady of the Rocks is not included in the tour price and is optional. The boat stops at the island, but visiting the interior costs extra.
