  • Visit San Gervasio Mayan Ruins
  • Explore El Mirador rocky seascape
  • Swim in Chen Rio natural pools
  • Relax at Cozumel Beach Club

The Experience

San Gervasio is the most important pre-Hispanic site on Cozumel—a pilgrimage center where Mayans worshipped the goddess Ixchel and a hub for trade and politics in the region. Your guide walks you through the archaeological ensemble and explains what each structure meant to the people who built it. From there, the buggy takes you to the east coast, where the island's wild side opens up: rocky seascapes, natural bridges, tide pools and stone needles facing the open Caribbean.

Chen Rio comes first—a place locals keep to themselves, with natural pools of warm, clear water that thousands of tourists never reach because few venture to this corner of the island. Then El Mirador, the rugged lookout on the east coast where you can walk among the rocks and tide pools. The buggy is air-conditioned, so the heat between stops is not a problem. A tequila tasting happens along the way (18+ to drink free samples), and you get bottled water throughout.

Lunch and snorkeling happen at the private beach club, where you have access to the pool, floating games in the sea, and the snorkeling equipment is provided. Tacos are included. The whole day is built around not having to arrange transport, find the ruins on your own, or figure out which beaches are worth the drive—the buggy and the guide handle that, and you move through the day without gaps.
