Step-by-step itinerary

Private bar crawl along East shore

  • Explore vibrant local culture
  • Visit beach bar, try Mayan Sacrifice shot
  • Enjoy Blue Margarita at next bar
  • Lunch and shopping with El Mirador Shot
  • Try Mexican Powerade and other drinks
  • Optional stop with Iguana Shot

The experience

You start with flexible pickup from your hotel or resort, then ride in a private air-conditioned van stocked with bottled water, sodas and local beers. The guide speaks English or Spanish and knows which bars deliver the best views and the drinks worth trying. The route follows the East Shore, stopping at five or six beach bars where the scenery shifts: some perched high with lookout views, others steps from the sand. At each stop you'll taste a signature drink: the Mayan Sacrifice at one spot, a Blue Margarita at another, a Slammer Shot at a third. Welcome drinks and complimentary shots at select locations come with the tour. If you want more, you order and pay separately.

The bars themselves are the draw. One sits right on the beach with authentic Mexican lunch available (not included in the price). Another has a pool and photo-friendly setup, where you get an El Mirador Shot as a courtesy. A third is known for its Blue Margarita and serves everything from Mojitos to fresh coconut water. The last stop before heading back is optional: the Iguana Shot bar on the Wild Side of the island, closer to downtown. You're not rushing. The five hours give you time to linger, swim if you want, and actually talk to people at each place instead of just passing through.

Because the itinerary is flexible, you and your guide decide together which bars fit your group's pace and interests. If one spot isn't working, you move on. If another is perfect, you stay longer. Music plays on board via Bluetooth or AUX, so the van ride itself is part of the experience. The whole thing is built around what you want to try and see, not a fixed schedule.

Is this one for you?Five hours is long enough to visit multiple bars and actually enjoy each one, but short enough to fit the rest of your day in Cozumel. If you want a full-day immersion in the island's bar scene, this works. If you're looking for a quick hour-long outing, look elsewhere.
