Mexican Cooking Class in Cozumel: Make Tortillas & Tacos
Roll tortillas by hand, build tacos from scratch, taste what you made.
A hands-on Mexican cooking class in Cozumel at KUZÁ Beach & Adventure Park where you learn to make fresh tortillas, guacamole, and tacos al pastor in a shaded beachfront palapa, then spend the rest of the day swimming, lounging, and eating at the park's all-inclusive buffet and bar. The class runs 8 hours total and includes a guide in English or Spanish; transportation to the park is available on one of the two purchase options.
Step-by-step itinerary
Beachfront cooking and relaxation
- Arrive and check in at KUZÁ Beach Park
- Participate in hands-on Mexican cooking workshop
- Enjoy beach time and cultural entertainment
- Dine with all-inclusive buffet and drinks
- Optional adventure rentals and free exploration
The Experience
The cooking workshop happens under a shaded palapa steps from the Caribbean, where an instructor walks you through making tortillas from scratch—learning why corn matters so much to Mexican food—then guides you through fresh guacamole and assembling tacos al pastor with marinated pork and traditional salsas. You taste everything as you go, washing it down with aguas frescas, the fruit-infused drinks Mexicans drink year-round. The class wraps with take-home recipes so you can rebuild what you learned once you're back home.
After the workshop, the beach is yours. KUZÁ sits on Cozumel's largest private beachfront with calm Caribbean water, lounge chairs, hammocks, and shaded spots scattered across the sand. The park runs live music, cultural performances, and beach games throughout the day. The all-inclusive buffet and open bar stay open during posted hours, so you eat and drink at your own pace—bold Mexican dishes, international options, cocktails, beer, soft drinks.
Two purchase options exist: one bundles the cooking class with a bike rental, the other adds the class to the full Deluxe Pass, which expands your access to the park's adventure add-ons like kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkeling (those extras cost more if you want them). Either way, a signed waiver is required at entry. The park is wheelchair accessible, suitable for all fitness levels, and welcomes families—infants can ride in a stroller, and minors must stay with a parent or guardian at all times, especially in the water.
