The experience

The day starts on the water in a boat with transparent hull and walls: a 360-degree view straight into the reef ecosystem. You snorkel in one of the Caribbean's most active coral zones, where the water clarity and fish density make the reef feel immediate and close. The transparent boat means you see the same reef from above and below the surface, and you can move between them without losing sight of what's happening underwater.

After the reef, a buggy ride takes you across the island to San Martin Beach Club, a stretch of white sand where you can swim, sunbathe or take photographs. Lunch is fajitas (chicken, beef or fish with guacamole and pico de gallo) served at the beach club. Beer, bottled water and sodas are included. Other drinks can be ordered separately.

The final stop is Otoch Mayan Experience, where the day shifts to cultural immersion. You participate in traditional Maya rituals and watch ceremonial dances, then move through a gastronomic tour that traces tequila from agave plant to glass, with a tasting at the end. Honey tasting from local bees is also part of the experience. A bilingual guide handles the commentary throughout, so the cultural context and the reef ecology both come through in English or Spanish.
