Step-by-step itinerary

Dune buggy, snorkeling, and lunch

  • Drive dune buggy through jungle
  • Snorkel at Dzul-ha reef
  • Enjoy traditional Mexican lunch
  • Learn about Cozumel's culture

The Experience

You get behind the wheel of a dune buggy and drive it yourself through Cozumel's lush jungle and along pristine coastal trails—terrain you cannot reach by car. The buggy is manual transmission, and the guide leads the group through the route, pointing out the landscape and sharing details about the island's history and ecosystems as you go. This is not a passenger ride; you are operating the vehicle the whole way.

After the driving portion, you transition into snorkeling at the Dzul-ha reef. Full snorkel gear is provided, and a certified guide takes you through the water to see the corals and fish. The reef is the main underwater stop, and the guide stays with the group throughout. You also have access to kayaks and a paddle board during this part of the day, so if snorkeling alone does not appeal, you have options for how to spend the water time.

A traditional Mexican lunch of tacos or chicken fajitas happens at a scenic spot partway through the day, giving you a chance to rest and refuel. A tequila tasting is part of the experience, and you get free time on the east coast to explore on your own. The whole outing runs about five hours, and a bilingual guide is with the group the entire time. Pickup from your hotel is included, and Wi-Fi is available throughout the day.
