You get picked up from your hotel or meeting point in an air-conditioned vehicle and driven to Akumal Beach, where the snorkeling begins. The guide leads you into the water with all equipment provided—mask, fins, snorkel—and positions you where sea turtles move through their natural habitat. This is not a boat ride to a distant reef; you're swimming in the shallows where turtles graze and drift, and the guide stays with you the whole time to point out what's moving beneath the surface and answer questions as you float.
After the guided snorkel, there's time for snacks and drinks on the beach, then 2 hours to do whatever the afternoon calls for—swim again, read under a palm, wade in the shallows, or just sit. The return trip to your hotel is included, so the day ends without another negotiation or fare.
