A 3-day Open Water Diver course in Cozumel where you master scuba skills across three phases: knowledge development, confined water dives, and open water dives in the reef. The course weaves marine conservation into every lesson, so you understand reef protection as you learn to use a mask, regulator, fins, buoyancy control device and tank. Private transportation, all equipment, an instructor, bottled water and snacks are included. The course runs in English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and three additional languages.

The experience

The course splits into three phases that build on each other. You start with knowledge development (online, independent study, or classroom instruction) to grasp the basic principles of how scuba diving works. Your instructor answers questions and checks your progress to make sure the information sticks before you ever enter the water. This foundation matters because the confined water dives that follow teach you the actual skills: how to breathe underwater, control your buoyancy, clear your mask and handle the equipment itself in a controlled setting where you can practice without risk.

Once you've drilled the basics in confined water, the open water dives let you use those skills in the reef itself. This is where the conservation piece becomes real. You're not just learning technique, you're learning how to move through the reef without damaging it, how to interact with the environment responsibly. The course is built around that principle from start to finish. Private transportation gets you to and from the dive sites, and all the gear (mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, tank) is provided. You bring nothing but your willingness to learn.

The course runs over 3 days according to your availability, and children from age 10 can enroll. An instructor guides you through every phase in your choice of language. Bottled water and snacks keep you fueled between dives.

You use a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a tank. All of it is included in the course. Your instructor will show you how each piece works and how to use it safely.

How does marine conservation fit into the course?

Conservation is woven into all three phases of the course. As you learn to dive, you also learn how to move through the reef without damaging it and why protecting the reefs matters. You're learning responsible diving from the start.
