The experience
The tour starts with pickup at your Nairobi hotel and a drive northwest toward Hell's Gate, stopping at a Great Rift Valley viewpoint on the way. By mid-morning you arrive at the park gate and choose your pace: a 2-hour bike ride through the landscape or a drive, both letting you spot Giraffes, Zebras, Buffaloes, Hyenas, Baboons and other wildlife. After an hour exploring the gorges (walking underneath the thin depressions of rock), you return the bike around noon and visit a Maasai community before lunch at Naivasha Fishermans Camp. At 2pm, a 1-hour boat ride on Lake Naivasha brings hippos, buffalo, fish eagles and pelicans into view.
Day two starts after breakfast with a game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park, where thousands of flamingos feed on the algae along the shores and you can see Giraffes, Waterbucks, Black and White Rhinos, Lions and Leopards. Lunch is at Buraha Zenoni Resort or a similar lodge, and you depart back to Nairobi by early evening, arriving around 5pm. Your guide speaks English throughout, and the itinerary is built around what you choose to do (bike or drive at Hell's Gate) rather than a fixed pace.

Can I bike through Hell's Gate or do I have to drive?
You choose: a 2-hour bike ride through the park is included, but driving is also allowed if you prefer not to cycle. Either way, you spot the same wildlife and walk the gorges afterward.
What animals might I see on the game drives?
Lake Nakuru is home to Giraffes, Waterbucks, Black and White Rhinos, Buffalo, Lions and Leopards, plus thousands of flamingos on the lake shore. Hell's Gate holds Zebras, Hyenas, Baboons, Giraffes, Buffaloes and many smaller species like Dikdiks and Klipspringers.
