The Experience

The first thing that happened? We left Nairobi late because someone’s suitcase zipper exploded right outside the hotel. Not my suitcase, but I felt for the guy — socks everywhere. When we finally rolled into Masai Mara National Reserve, it was almost golden hour. The air smelled like dry grass with a hint of wood smoke somewhere far off.
