The Experience

“Don’t worry about making it perfect,” our instructor said, smiling as she handed me a scoop of cloudy pulp. I’d never thought much about paper before, honestly, but here in Kyoto — standing barefoot on cool wood floors, sleeves rolled up — it felt almost sacred.
