The Experience

Good Hope sits on 2000 acres of plantation land on the edge of Jamaica's Cockpit Country, ringed by 18th-century stone buildings and the Martha Brae River. The day starts with hotel pickup — the reservations team will email your specific pickup time, which varies by hotel location — and arrival at the estate. From there, you move through activities at your own pace: zipline through the canopy, take an E-bike tour across the grounds, tube down the river, drive a dune buggy over the terrain, or spend time in the pools. There's no fixed itinerary; you choose what appeals to you and how much time to spend on each.

The water side includes river tubing on the Martha Brae, where a guide captains a hand-made bamboo raft and you get a foot massage with an estate-made scrub while floating. The pools are the centerpiece: a zero-entry main pool with six wading pools that lead up to a 50-foot waterfall and a plunge pool at the top. A waterslide runs down from the upper pools. The Appleton Rum Tasting happens on-site, and a riverside restaurant and bar serve food and drinks you can purchase. Professional guides are stationed throughout to manage safety and answer questions about the estate and its history.

Bring a valid driver's license if you plan to drive a dune buggy; closed-toed shoes, a full-length shirt and shorts or active pants are required dress code for all activities. Lockers rent for $10 if you need to store belongings. The day lasts 7 hours from arrival time, and you can arrive at 9:00 AM or 10:30 AM depending on which option you choose at checkout.
