The experience

The day starts on horseback. You ride inland through trails shaped by centuries of history along the Seville coastline, then guide your horse into the warm Caribbean waters for a swim: the defining moment most people come back to. A professional guide leads the group, and the ocean views frame the entire ride.

After the horses, you move to the zipline course. The garden traverse system sends you flying through treetops on a series of lines and Indiana-Jones-style suspended bridges. Then comes the Falls Course: you soar directly over Dunn's River Falls itself, suspended above the roar of water cascading 600 feet down natural limestone terraces. The perspective from above is the thing you cannot get any other way.

The climb happens at the base, where the river empties into the Caribbean. You cool off in the water and then ascend the waterfall itself: step by step up the natural cascading terraces, the current pushing against you, the sea visible below. This is the physical centerpiece: not a hike past the falls, but a climb up them. The whole experience runs 7 to 8 hours from start to finish.

Can I do the horseback ride if I've never ridden before?

Yes. The ride is led by professional guides and you get acquainted with your horse before heading out. Minimum age is 6 years. Riders must weigh no more than 230 pounds for the horseback and swim portion.

What's the zipline part like if I'm afraid of heights?

The zipline course has two sections: the garden traverse through treetops, and the Falls Course directly over the waterfall. You're harnessed and guided throughout, but the Falls Course does run you out over open air above the cascade. The weight limit for zipline is 265 pounds.

Is the waterfall climb difficult?

Dunn's River Falls is a 600-foot natural cascade with limestone terraces you climb step by step. You'll be in the water with the current, so moderate physical fitness is required. The climb is the most physically demanding part of the day.

Hotel pickup is included and runs 30 to 60 minutes before your arrival time at the meeting point, depending on your hotel location. The time you select at checkout is your arrival time, not your pickup time. The whole activity takes 7 to 8 hours.

What should I bring or wear?

Wear swimwear under your clothes and bring a change of clothes for after. Water shoes or sandals help on the waterfall climb. Lockers are available for a fee (US $10). Photos, snacks and souvenirs are not included.
