The experience

The day starts around 8am with pickup at your Montego Bay hotel or cruise terminal in an air-conditioned minivan. The drive takes you through Ocho Rios and into the White River villages, passing a hydroelectric plant where water flows through wooden pipes carved from trees. This route is how you reach the Blue Hole, a natural mineral pool set 25 feet deep in the hills, surrounded by lush greenery and exotic tropical flowers with waterfalls cascading into it.

At the Blue Hole you swim in the clear water or relax on the rocks. Cliff jumping is optional (those who skip it watch from the side), and underwater cave exploration is available for the adventurous. After this, you move to the White River for the tubing portion. A trained guide gets you into an inflated tube and you float downriver with the guide steering. You can stop mid-way for a splash or swing across the river on ropes before continuing downstream.

On the return to Montego Bay, the route includes a stop at a local craft market for souvenirs and lunch at a jerk restaurant. Bottled water is provided throughout the day.
