The experience

Blue Hole sits in the hills above Ocho Rios, a spring-fed waterfall that flows into a pool of water so clear and blue it stops people mid-step. You swim in it, climb the rock face beside the falling water, and if you find the small cave hidden underneath the cascade, you can duck inside. The guide points out the tropical flowers and dense greenery that frame the whole thing, and the water stays cool even when the Jamaican heat is at its peak.

After Blue Hole, you move to the Rio Bueno, where the river mixes calm sections with Class II rapids. You pick your vessel before you start: tube, raft or kayak. A certified guide stays with the group the whole way, calling out the turns and keeping watch. The rapids are manageable, not extreme: the kind of white water that gets your heart moving without requiring expert skill.

Transport in an air-conditioned vehicle gets you from the meeting point to both sites and back. The day runs six hours total. Children from age three can join. The operator has specialized infant seats available. Pickup is included, and entrance to both attractions is covered in the price.
