The experience
Bocale operates on 10 hectares, six planted with vines, and has been converting to organic farming since 2020. No herbicides are used in the vineyard. Instead, grass grows between the rows to prevent erosion and reduce mechanical work. The soil is replenished with organic and mineral fertilizers, and the cellar uses only indigenous yeasts: no microfiltrations or chemical stabilizations. The result is wine made on the natural rhythms of the land, not industrial shortcuts.
You'll taste the four wines the winery is known for, each one explained as it relates to the place it comes from. The Trebbiano Spoletino is crisp and local; the Montefalco Rosso and Sagrantino are the region's signature reds; the Sagrantino Passito is a sweet version aged longer. Bruschetta topped with the winery's extra virgin olive oil comes alongside, so you're tasting two products of the same philosophy at once. The guide tells the story of how Bocale started, what drives the daily work in both vineyard and cellar, and how the four wines take shape across the seasons.
