Private Pasta & Tiramisu Class in Parma: Make & taste
Roll pasta by hand, then sit down to eat it
A private pasta and tiramisu-making class in a home cook's kitchen in Parma, where you learn two pasta recipes and tiramisu from scratch, then taste everything you've made with local wines. The Cesarina (your host) teaches family cooking secrets in her own home. The class runs three hours and includes water, wine, coffee and an official apron. Suitable for families with children of any age.
The Experience
You arrive at your Cesarina's home in Parma and spend three hours learning how to make two pasta dishes and tiramisu from the ground up. She walks you through the techniques: the hand movements, the timing, the small adjustments that separate a good dish from the one her family has made for years. You're not watching a demonstration. You're doing the work yourself, rolling dough, layering cream and mascarpone, tasting as you go. The kitchen is hers, not a classroom, and the instruction is one-on-one.
Once the cooking is done, you sit down to lunch or dinner and eat what you've made. The pasta comes to the table warm, the tiramisu chilled. Local wines come with the meal, along with water and coffee. You leave with an official Le Cesarine apron, a small reminder of the afternoon, and the ability to make these dishes at home. Le Cesarine is Italy's oldest network of home cooks, operating in more than 120 cities. The hosts are trained to welcome travelers into their kitchens as if you were family.
