The experience
You start from Positano's pier and head south along the rocky coast toward Praiano, where the boat stops so you can swim in the caves that dot the shoreline. The route continues to the Fiordo di Furore for a photo stop, then to the Emerald Grotto: the limestone cave with water so green it gives the place its name. You can enter on your own (a small ticket applies) or stay on the boat. Either way, the crew waits while you decide how long to linger.
After the grotto, the boat anchors at Conca dei Marini for another swim in clear water, then passes a natural stone arch near Amalfi where you can take one more dip before heading back. The pace is yours: the guide points out what matters, but you're not rushing between stops or sitting through a talk. Snorkeling gear sits ready if you want it, and the boat carries towels, bottled water, sodas and snacks. WiFi and Bluetooth speakers are on board, so the day stays connected if you want it to.
The boat returns to Positano after four hours. Three vessel options are available at checkout (two open-air cruisers of different sizes and one with a cabin), so you can pick based on your group and how much sun you want. The guide speaks English or Italian, and infants travel free on an adult's lap.

Is this one for you?Choose the open-air cruiser if you want to feel the sun and spray the whole way. Pick the cabin option if your group prefers shade or you're traveling with young children who need a break from heat. All three boats follow the same route, so the choice is about comfort, not what you'll see.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the Emerald Grotto and do I have to go inside?
The Emerald Grotto is a sea cave carved into the limestone cliffs near Conca dei Marini, named for the brilliant green color of the water inside. Entry is optional and costs about 10 euros per person if you choose to go in. The boat stops and waits while you decide.
Can I swim at every stop, or are some just for photos?
Most stops include swimming: Praiano, Conca dei Marini and the natural arch near Amalfi all have water time built in. The Fiordo di Furore is a photo stop only, and Positano at the start is a photo overview before you leave the pier.
Is snorkeling equipment included, and what's the water like for swimming?
Snorkeling gear is included and ready to use at any stop. The water is described as crystalline and clear, and you can swim at your own pace: the crew doesn't rush you back to the boat.
What's the difference between the three boat options?
Two are open-air cruisers of different sizes. One has a cabin. You choose at checkout based on group size and how much sun exposure you prefer. All three follow the same route and stops.
Do I need to visit Amalfi town, or can I skip it?
The boat continues toward Amalfi and offers a walk through the ancient Maritime Republic if you want it, but the itinerary is flexible. You set the pace at each stop, so you can spend more time swimming and less in town if you prefer.
