The experience
Three hours in a home in the Bolognese hills means you arrive, settle in with a welcome aperitif, and move straight into the work. Roberta walks you through pizza-making step by step (how to handle the dough, the timing, the technique), and you make your own from scratch. Since proper dough needs 24 hours to rise, she'll have prepared one the day before. You'll work with both, so you understand the full process and still get to bake something you shaped yourself. The toppings are there to choose from: stick with a classic Margherita or go for spicy salami or whatever appeals to you.
Once your pizza goes into the oven, the focus shifts to the table. You taste what you made alongside the other guests' creations, paired with local wines chosen to match. Roberta serves homemade fiordilatte gelato with Fabbri amarena cherries and coffee to close it out, the way it's done in Italy. The whole thing unfolds in her home, not a commercial kitchen, which is the point. You're learning how an Italian cook actually makes pizza, in the space where she lives.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Italian.
What do I actually make during the three hours?
You prepare pizza dough from scratch and learn the technique Roberta uses, then shape, top and bake your own pizza. Roberta also has dough she made the day before so you can see how the 24-hour rise changes the result and still get to work with fresh dough you've handled yourself.
Do I need cooking experience to join?
No. Roberta teaches the steps as you go, and the class is built around learning, not speed. The minimum age is 13, and she can accommodate food allergies or dietary restrictions if you let her know when you book.
What happens after the pizzas come out of the oven?
You taste your pizza and everyone else's at the table together, paired with local wines. The meal ends with homemade gelato and coffee, all eaten in her home in a shared, informal way.
How do I get to the home where the class happens?
The home is in the hills just outside Bologna, and public transportation options are available nearby. Roberta can give you directions when you book, or you can ask about pickup if you need it.
Is the home accessible if I use a wheelchair?
Yes. All areas and surfaces in the home are wheelchair accessible, and the kitchen and dining space are set up so you can move freely and participate fully in the class.
