The experience
You'll work at your own station in a local cook's home in Genoa or the surrounding area, equipped with all the utensils and ingredients you need. The Cesarina teaches three recipes from the region. Choose from trofie or ravioli alla spezzina or pasta alla contadina for the main course, and canestrelli biscuits, castagnaccio, spongata cake or tiramisu for dessert. She walks you through each dish, showing you the techniques that make these recipes work, and you cook alongside her rather than watching a demonstration.
After three hours, you sit down to taste everything you've made, paired with a selection of red and white local wines, water and coffee. The class is private, so the pace and focus stay on what you want to learn. The address is kept private until after booking, when you'll receive all the details and directions. Public transportation options are nearby if you're traveling without a car.
