The experience

You arrive at a meeting point in the area and get picked up by the operator, then driven to the Alcantara River. The activity unfolds across a series of natural lakes formed by the river's flow over thousands of years. This is not a tour where you watch from the bank. You enter the water, move through the pools, and use the landscape itself: diving from rocks, sliding down natural chutes, swimming between formations. A specialized guide stays with the group the entire time, managing the sequence and watching for safety.

The operator provides a neoprene wetsuit, trekking shoes, harness, helmet and life jacket. You bring a swimsuit and towel. The difficulty is rated medium, which means the activity involves sustained water time and some physical effort, but no technical diving certification is required. The guide speaks English or Italian depending on your group.

Four hours is the full duration, so plan the rest of your day around a morning or afternoon block. The activity ends when you return to the meeting point for transport back.
