The Kecak Fire Dance unfolds on the temple stage as daylight fades. Dancers in traditional dress move through the story of the Ramayana (the epic that shaped most Balinese performance art), while fire blazes across the stage. The performance is timed so the sunset and the dance happen together, one framing the other.
