The experience
The speed boat leaves Sanur Beach and crosses to Nusa Penida in under 45 minutes. Your English-speaking guide meets you on arrival and leads the island tour on foot, moving between four distinct stops. Hotel pickup is included from Legian, Kuta, Central Jimbaran, Central Nusa Dua and Ubud Center. Surcharges apply for other areas.
Diamond Beach sits beneath deep cliffs on the east side of the island. Until late 2018, the beach was unreachable except by boat. Local people then carved limestone steps into the cliff face to create access. You descend these stairs to reach white sand and clear water, with views of surrounding islands framing the bay. Atuh Beach, also called Dragon Beach, lies in a secluded location between two high cliffs and offers a similar sheltered cove with white sand. Lunch boxes are served at Atuh Beach before the group heads back toward the port.
Between the beaches, the tour includes Molenteng Tree House, a natural structure perched on a hilltop with views across deep cliffs, horizon, blue water and green slopes. The final stop is Thousand Island View Point (Raja Lima), a panoramic overlook on the island's high ground where you can see the ocean and the scattered islands beyond. The afternoon transfer returns you to the harbor to catch the speed boat back to Sanur.
