The experience
You'll cook in Jyashree's kitchen, a working space where she teaches the fundamentals of a South Indian meal: how to prepare the rices, sauté vegetables with spices into a poriyal, and build the peppery rasam that anchors an Iyer sapaad. The class runs about 2 to 3 hours of hands-on work, and you're free to ask in advance if you want to focus on dosas, appams or anything else she can prepare for. This is a personalized experience. It's just you (or your group) and Jyashree, no strangers at the stove.
After you finish cooking, you'll sit down together to eat. The meal includes the dishes you made plus additional items Jyashree has prepared in advance, all vegetarian. You pick whether you want to come for lunch or dinner when you book. The setting is cozy and lived-in (this is her home, not a cooking school), and the whole point is to connect over food and leave with new recipes, a sense of how a local family actually cooks, and a real friendship.

Is this one for you?Book the lunch slot if you want to start your morning cooking and eat early. The dinner class works better if you prefer an afternoon arrival and want to cook as the day winds down. Either way, you're learning in a real home kitchen, not a commercial space, so the pace is relaxed and the focus is on you.
