After the caves, the Global Vipassana Pagoda sits on its own grounds with gardens and a lake. The pagoda itself rises 29 meters, covered in intricate carvings, and your guide explains what you are looking at. A meditation session is offered—you can join it or walk the gardens instead. Vegetarian snacks come with the visit, a quiet moment before the drive back. The whole day is customizable: if you want to eat lunch at a particular spot, or spend extra time at one site, or skip the meditation, you arrange it with the guide and driver as you go.
