Hungarian Cooking Class Budapest: Make 3-Course Menu
Cook a three-course Hungarian meal and eat what you make
A 4-hour hands-on cooking class in central Budapest where you make a full Hungarian 3-course menu plus Hungarian bites, choose from three different menus, taste local ingredients and traditions, and finish by eating together with Hungarian wine. Minimum 4 participants required; vegetarian options available.
The Experience
The class runs in the chef's kitchen in the centre of Budapest, and you cook the whole time—no watching, no demonstrations. You'll work as a team making the same menu, so the first person to book picks which one: Goulash soup with beef and Savoury Hortobagy pancake with chicken and Apple Strudel; or Creamy potato soup with smoked sausage, Stuffed cabbage and Poppy-seed bread dumplings with vanilla custard; or Cold sour cherry soup, Chicken paprikas with dumplings and Gundel pancake. All ingredients, pots and kitchen equipment are provided.
As you cook, you taste typical local ingredients—different types of paprika, sausage, cheese—and learn the flavors, traditions and stories behind Hungarian cuisine. The chef talks about Hungary, local food, customs and history while you're working. You'll receive the recipes so you can make these dishes at home.
At the end, everyone sits down together and eats the 3-course menu you've made, with a glass of Hungarian wine, Pálinka, or homemade soft drinks included. The whole experience is 4 hours, and children are welcome from age 6. A minimum of 4 participants is required for the class to run.
