The experience

Five hours covers three distinct parts of the day. You start at a wildlife sanctuary where rescued sloths, Capuchin monkeys, and tropical birds live in a natural jungle setting. Local guides demonstrate Garifuna cooking techniques and share stories about island conservation while you move through the exhibits. This is close-up animal time, not a drive-by: the kind of encounter families and older travelers often prefer because there's no rushing and no heavy physical demand.

Then you ride. The route takes you through dense jungle on rugged trails, crossing shallow creeks and climbing hills while your guide points out wild iguanas, red rabbits, and native plants. You'll stop at the Secret Well, a traditional wash site locals still use, and hear Roatan's history as you go. The guide handles safety and pacing. You operate the ATV or buggy yourself. Mud happens. The terrain is real, but the ride is built to be fun rather than punishing.

The last two hours happen at Las Palmas, a private beach club on turquoise water with an infinity pool, beach chairs, and Caribbean food. Swim, snorkel if you want it, or sit by the pool with a tropical drink. Round-trip transport from the cruise port is included, so you don't arrange a separate ride back.
