The Experience
The day opens with pickup from your hotel or cruise ship port, followed by a short city tour before you reach Mayan edden Eco park on the island's East End. There you walk a guided tour with a live guide who points out Roatan's wildlife — monkeys, sloths, birds, butterflies and more — and talks through the island's history and culture. You get time to photograph the animals at two separate stops inside the park. After roughly 20 minutes in an air-conditioned van, you arrive at the ATV rental station at Roatan Island Flavor restaurant, your welcome point for the ride.
Once there, you slip on a helmet and get a safety briefing on how to handle the quad bike. Then you take the wheel of your own ATV and follow your expert guide for 90 minutes of riding. You're operating the machine yourself, not watching from a seat — the guide leads the route and stays with the group, but the ride is yours to control. The total time from pickup to drop-off runs four to five hours.
An optional beach break is built into the day. Lunch and drinks are available to purchase at the restaurant but are not included in the price. Children must be accompanied by an adult; the minimum age is 5.
