The experience
The tour starts at the cruise port with pickup and a guide who rides alongside you. You drive the dune buggy yourself through lush jungle trails where sloths, iguanas, and tropical birds move through the canopy above the paths. The route is not a paved loop. You'll splash through creeks and navigate winding terrain that opens onto hidden clearings. The guide speaks English or Spanish and stops to point out wildlife and explain what you're seeing, but the vehicle stays in your hands the whole time.
Midway through, you reach the Secret Well, a site where local Garifuna people still wash clothes using traditional methods. Your guide shares the history and cultural significance of the place, grounding the ride in something beyond the adrenaline. From there, the trail leads to a private beach on 402 acres of property exclusive to this tour. You can swim in the Caribbean, use the infinity pool, or stay dry and eat fresh island food and American-style dishes prepared on-site. Two local beers come with the tour. Additional drinks are available for purchase.
The whole experience runs four to five hours from port pickup to drop-off. Riders must be at least 16 with a valid license to operate the buggy. Children as young as five can join if they ride as passengers with an adult. The buggies are eco-friendly, and the operation supports local conservation and community projects on the island.

Operated by ATV Dune Buggy ROATAN Eco-Jungle Adventure Tours
Is this one for you?You operate the buggy yourself on jungle trails, so this suits riders who want hands-on control and the thrill of driving off-road, not passengers looking to relax while someone else navigates. The tour is shared with other guests, which keeps the price lower than a private option and means you'll ride alongside other buggies on the same route.

Can I ride the ATV myself, or does a guide drive it?

What wildlife will I actually see on the ride?

What happens at the private beach, and how much time do we spend there?
The beach is on a 402-acre property with an infinity pool, swimming in clear Caribbean water, and fresh island food and American-style dining. You have time to swim, relax, and eat during the final part of the tour before heading back to the port.
How does pickup work if I'm arriving on a cruise ship?
A guide meets you outside the Roatan cruise port holding a sign with your name and an ATV buggy symbol. You'll need to provide your ship name, docking time, disembarkation time, and re-boarding time when you book so the tour times align with your ship's schedule.
