The experience

The cruise leaves Ornos and traces the south coast from west to east, passing the string of beaches that built Mykonos's reputation: Psarou, Platis Gialos, Paradise, Super Paradise, Paranga, Kalo Livadi and Kalafatis. Many of these have docks and beach bars where you can stop for a drink or coffee without leaving the boat, or you can swim in the quieter bays and smaller beaches between them. The route is built around what you want to do: linger at one beach, hop between several, or push on to the next stop.

Dragonisi, a small rocky island near the southeastern coast, is the endpoint when weather allows. The snorkeling there is the draw: the water is clear enough to see the small underwater caves the rocks create, and the island itself has no development, so it stays quiet. Towels and snorkeling gear are on the boat, and you can swim as long as you want before heading back.

The open bar runs the whole three hours: beer, wine and soft drinks are unlimited. The captain speaks English and stays on board throughout, so there's no separate guide to brief or coordinate with. The boat and its amenities are yours for the afternoon.
