Windmills, narrow waterfront streets, a 30-minute village stop, and a choice between lighthouse cliffs or beach swimming

A small-group or private island tour of Mykonos lasting three and a half hours, with hotel or cruise port pickup included. You walk through Mykonos Town past the iconic windmills and the whitewashed Panagia Paraportiani church, explore the waterfront shops of Little Venice, spend 30 minutes in the traditional village of Ano Mera at the Panagia Tourliani Monastery, and finish at either Armenistis Lighthouse overlooking Agios Stefanos beach or at a beach for 45 minutes of swimming. The tour includes a guide in English, bottled water, traditional Greek and Mykonian snacks, and air-conditioned transport throughout.

  • Visit Panagia Paraportiani church
  • Stop at Ano Mera village
  • See Panagia Tourliani Monastery
  • View Ftelia beach bay

The Experience

The tour picks you up from your hotel or the cruise port and moves through the island's main sights in a single arc. Mykonos Town comes first—a walk past the five windmills (the most photographed spot on the island), then through the narrow lanes to the Church of Panagia Paraportiani, one of the oldest on Mykonos, and into Little Venice where the waterfront buildings open directly onto the sea. The guide tells the stories behind each place as you move through them.

From there the route heads inland to Ano Mera, the island's other village, where you stop for 30 minutes to walk the traditional streets and visit the Panagia Tourliani Monastery. The monastery sits in the center of the village and dates back centuries; the stop gives you time to move through it and see how the village itself is built around it, without the pace of Mykonos Town. You'll also pass Ftelia beach viewpoint on the way, where the bay opens below and kite surfers work the wind.

The final leg depends on which option you choose at checkout. Pick the lighthouse option and you spend 10 to 15 minutes at Armenistis Lighthouse, standing on the cliffs above Agios Stefanos beach. Choose the beach option instead and you get 45 minutes to swim and rest. Either way, the vehicle is air-conditioned, bottled water is on board, and traditional Greek snacks and drinks travel with you—no stops to arrange food separately.

What’s included

  • Hotel or cruise port pickup and drop-off.
  • air-conditioned vehicle for the full three and a half hours.
  • English-speaking guide.
  • bottled water throughout the day.
  • traditional Greek and Mykonian snacks and drinks served on board.

Is this one for you?Choose the small-group option if you want to meet other travelers and split the cost, or go private if your group prefers to move at its own pace. Pick the beach option if swimming matters to you; pick the lighthouse option if you'd rather stand on the cliffs and skip the water.

Top questions

What's the difference between the small-group and private options on this Mykonos tour?

The small-group tour runs with up to eight people and shares the cost; the private tour is your group alone in the vehicle. Both follow the same route and include the same stops, guide and snacks.

Can I swim on this tour, or is it only sightseeing?

Two of the four options include beach time. The "Sightseeing and Beach" option ends with 45 minutes at Agios Stefanos beach for swimming; the "Sightseeing and the Lighthouse" option gives you 10 to 15 minutes at the same beach after the lighthouse. The other two options are sightseeing only.

How long do you spend at each stop in Mykonos Town?

The itinerary doesn't fix individual stop lengths in town—the guide moves the group through the windmills, Panagia Paraportiani church and Little Venice as a continuous walk, so you see them all without separate timing for each one.

What is Ano Mera and why stop there for 30 minutes?

Ano Mera is Mykonos's second village, inland and quieter than the port town. The 30-minute stop lets you walk the traditional streets and visit the Panagia Tourliani Monastery, which sits at the village center and is one of the island's oldest religious sites.

Is the tour suitable if I'm traveling with young children?

Children are welcome from age one. Infants must sit on an adult's lap during the drive. The tour involves walking through town streets and villages, so consider your child's comfort with that pace and distance.

What should I bring for the beach part of the tour?

If you choose one of the beach options, bring your own towel—it's not provided. Bring sunscreen and water as well, though bottled water is included on the vehicle.
