The experience

Tahiti Nui takes you through both coasts in a single day, starting with the east side's most recognizable stops. Faarumai Waterfalls sits in a landscape so intact it feels prehistoric: three separate cascades drop into a pool where you can swim. The Arahoho Blowhole, a natural phenomenon on the coast, sends seawater through a rock opening. You'll also see Tahiti's one lighthouse standing on black sand, natural caves filled with water lilies, and a garden thick with flowers and small ponds.

The west coast leg brings you to a large black sand beach where surfers work the reef and the coastline stretches unbroken. Beyond the main roads, the route continues to quieter sites most day trips skip. At checkout, you can add the Tahiti Iti peninsula viewpoint (a stop at about 700 meters altitude where the road itself winds through fir trees and pasture), or extend to Teahupo'o, the international surf break that hosted the 2024 Paris Olympics surfing competition. Teahupo'o is the only place on earth where surfers ride the coral barrier itself, and depending on the season, whales pass through the same waters.

The vehicle is air-conditioned and holds your group alone. The guide speaks English or French and drives. Bottled water comes with the booking. The full route runs about seven hours, so plan for an early pickup and a late return.
