Two ancient temples sit between Luxor and Aswan on the same road south.

A private transfer from Luxor to Aswan with stops at Edfu Temple (dedicated to Horus) and Kom Ombo Temple (dedicated to Sobek and Horus), taking seven to eight hours total. You choose among three options: driver only, driver plus an English-speaking Egyptologist guide at both temples, or the same with entrance tickets included. Pickup from your Luxor hotel or Nile cruise and drop-off in Aswan are part of every option. The guide and tickets vary by what you select at checkout.

The experience

The route runs south along the Nile Valley, and the two temples are the natural stops on the way. Edfu Temple is one of Egypt's best-preserved ancient temples, built for the falcon god Horus. Kom Ombo sits further south and is unique as a double temple, with sections dedicated to both Sobek and Horus. If you book with a guide, an English-speaking Egyptologist meets you at each temple to explain the history and mythology carved into the walls. Without the guide, you explore on your own pace.

The vehicle is private and air-conditioned, and your driver handles all the driving. Fuel, tolls, and parking are included in the price. You can arrange short breaks along the way if you want them. Pickup happens at your hotel, guesthouse, or wherever your Nile cruise is docked in Luxor, at whatever time you choose. Drop-off is at your hotel or another location you name in Aswan.

The three options let you build the trip to your budget and interests. Private Transfer Only gets you to Aswan with the two temple stops but no guide or tickets. You see the temples from outside or buy entry on arrival. Transfer with Archaeology Guide adds an Egyptologist at both sites but you still buy tickets separately. All-Inclusive Temple Route bundles the guide and entrance tickets so nothing else is needed once you're picked up.
