You're picked up from your Aswan hotel at 7 am in a private air-conditioned vehicle. The drive north follows the Nile to Kom Ombo Temple, which sits on high ground overlooking the river. Your guide walks you through the stone columns, forecourt and sanctuaries, explaining how Sobek (the crocodile god of fertility) and Haroeris (the falcon-headed Horus) share the space.
