- Visit Temple of Horus in Edfu
- Return to hotel in Aswan or Luxor
The experience
The Temple of Kom Ombo stands on high ground overlooking the Nile with a layout unlike any other Egyptian temple: a double entrance, each dedicated to a different deity. One side honors Haroeris, the falcon-headed god, while the other serves Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility and creation. Your guide walks you through both sanctuaries, explaining how the temple was built to honor these two divine powers at once. From there, you travel by road to Edfu to visit the Temple of Horus, considered the best-preserved cult temple in Egypt. This is where, according to myth, the falcon-headed Horus avenged his father Osiris by defeating Seth.
Pickup happens at 7:00 am from your Aswan hotel, and the return is timed to drop you back in either Aswan or Luxor, depending on where you're staying. The vehicle is modern and air-conditioned, and bottled water is provided throughout the day. Your guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French or German, and all taxes and service charges are included in the price. Temple entry tickets are not included and can be added when you book.

What's the difference between the Temple of Kom Ombo and the Temple of Horus at Edfu?
Kom Ombo has two entrances and sanctuaries, each dedicated to a different god: Haroeris (falcon) and Sobek (crocodile), making it unique among Egyptian temples. The Temple of Horus at Edfu is dedicated solely to Horus and is regarded as Egypt's best-preserved cult temple, with a single, unified design.
