The experience
The journey starts with pickup from your Aswan accommodation and a 90-minute drive south to Kom Ombo Temple, which sits on the Nile's edge and was built for two gods: Sobek the crocodile and Horus the Elder. You'll have 1 to 1.5 hours to walk the temple grounds, see the reliefs and inscriptions, visit the Nilometer, and explore the Crocodile Museum. If you've booked the guided or all-inclusive option, your Egyptologist will explain the temple's history and religious significance. If not, you explore at your own pace.
After Kom Ombo, the drive to Edfu takes roughly 1.5 hours through the Nile Valley: palm groves, traditional villages, and farmland line the route. The Temple of Edfu, dedicated to Horus the falcon god, is one of Egypt's best-preserved temples, with towering entrance pylons, a grand courtyard, and decorated halls full of inscriptions about ancient Egyptian religion. You get 1 to 1.5 hours here as well. A guide (if selected) walks you through the Ptolemaic-period construction and the temple's role in ancient Egypt. Without one, you're free to photograph and wander on your own schedule.
The final leg to Luxor is a 2 to 2.5 hour drive, ending at your hotel, Nile cruise, airport, or another drop-off point you choose. All vehicle costs (fuel, tolls, parking, driver expenses) are included in your booking price, which is charged per vehicle, not per person, so families and small groups travel together without splitting up.

Is this one for you?Pick the all-inclusive option if you want the temples explained by someone who knows the history and don't want to buy tickets separately at each site. Choose transfer with guide if you'd rather handle entry fees yourself. Go driver-only if you prefer to move through the landscape without stopping, or if you're visiting the temples on a different day.

Top questions
What languages is the guide in?
Live guide in English and Arabic.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (4 to 11 years); Infant (under 4).
What's the difference between the three booking options?
Private Transfer Only gets you a driver and air-conditioned vehicle with no guide or temple tickets. You pay entry fees at each temple if you choose to visit. Transfer with Local Guide adds a licensed English-speaking Egyptologist at Kom Ombo and Edfu to explain the history, though you still buy your own tickets. All-Inclusive Temple Route includes the guide plus entrance tickets to both temples, so nothing extra to arrange once you arrive.
How long does the whole trip take from Aswan to Luxor?
The tour runs 7 to 8 hours total, including roughly 90 minutes to Kom Ombo, 1 to 1.5 hours at that temple, 1.5 hours driving to Edfu, 1 to 1.5 hours at Edfu, and 2 to 2.5 hours on to Luxor, plus brief stops for photos and transitions between sites.
Can I visit Kom Ombo and Edfu or just one of them?
The itinerary is flexible, so you can stop at both temples, skip one, or skip both and go straight through to Luxor. You decide when you book or can adjust with your driver on the day. The timing and route adapt to what you want to see.
What will I see at Kom Ombo Temple?
Kom Ombo is built for two gods and features reliefs, ancient inscriptions, a Nilometer (an ancient water-level gauge), and a Crocodile Museum inside the temple complex. It sits on the Nile's edge, so the setting itself is part of the experience, and there are excellent photo spots overlooking the river.
Is the vehicle accessible if I use a wheelchair?
Yes, the vehicle and transportation are wheelchair accessible. Infants can travel in a pram or stroller, and specialized infant seats are available if needed. The tour is suitable for all physical fitness levels.
Where will the driver pick me up and drop me off?
Pickup and drop-off are door-to-door anywhere in Aswan and Luxor: your hotel, a Nile cruise, the airport, or any location you specify. You arrange the exact addresses when you book.
