The experience
The Egyptian Museum opens the day. You'll see the golden treasures of King Tutankhamen's tomb (the masks, the chariots, the intricate burial goods) displayed in rooms that hold some of the world's most intact royal collections. A qualified Egyptologist guide walks you through the pieces and explains what each one meant to the pharaoh in the afterlife. This is not a rushed pass-through. The museum alone justifies half the morning.
From there the tour moves to Giza, where the three main pyramids rise from the plateau and the Sphinx sits facing east. You'll see them from ground level, walk around the bases, and get the scale of the construction in a way no photograph quite captures. The guide explains how the pyramids were built, what they contained, and why they've survived five thousand years while so much else has crumbled. A camel ride is available if you want it, though it's optional and arranged separately.
Hotel pickup and drop-off bookend the day, so you don't arrange transport yourself. The guide speaks English, Portuguese, Italian, French and several other languages, so confirm yours when you book. Dress is smart casual: comfortable shoes matter more than formality, since you'll be walking the museum floors and the pyramid grounds. Children from age 6 are welcome on the tour.

Is this one for you? This is a shared tour with a fixed itinerary and a guide leading the group, so it suits travelers who want the history and context explained rather than exploring on their own. If you prefer to move at your own pace or skip the museum, a private tour or a self-guided visit to the pyramids alone would work better.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic and Russian.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 11 years). Children under 6 can't be included in the booking.
What exactly is inside the Egyptian Museum that makes it worth a whole morning?
King Tutankhamen's tomb treasures fill multiple rooms: his golden death mask, chariots, furniture, weapons and the smaller objects buried with him. The Egyptologist guide explains what each piece was for and why the tomb was so well preserved when others were looted centuries ago.
Can you actually get close to the Giza Pyramids, or do you view them from far away?
The Giza Pyramids are visited on foot at ground level, so you walk around the bases and see the scale of the stone blocks and construction up close. You're not climbing inside them on this tour, but you're standing right in front of them, not viewing from a distance.
How long does the whole tour take, and what time does it start?
The tour runs 6 to 9 hours total, depending on how long you spend at each site and your own pace. Hotel pickup is included, so the timing starts when the driver arrives at your accommodation.
Is the Egyptian Museum accessible if I use a wheelchair?
Yes, the museum and all its surfaces are wheelchair accessible, and the same applies to the Giza Pyramids site. Transportation options are also wheelchair accessible, and infants can ride in a pram or stroller throughout the day.
What's the difference between this tour and visiting the pyramids on my own?
The Egyptologist guide provides context and history you wouldn't get alone: why the pyramids were built, how they were constructed, what the Sphinx represents. The guide also handles the logistics: hotel pickup, entry to both sites, and navigation through the museum's many rooms.
