The experience

Pickup happens from your Cairo or Giza hotel or from the airport, and the drive takes you straight to the Giza Pyramids Complex in a private air-conditioned vehicle. Your licensed Egyptologist guide meets you there and walks you through the site at whatever speed suits you: no rushing between stops, no waiting for a group to catch up. The guide shares the engineering behind the Great Pyramid of Khufu, built over 4,500 years ago, and explains the history of Pharaoh Khufu and the mysteries that still surround it.

The tour includes entry to the pyramid complex, access to the panoramic viewpoint where all three pyramids line up for photos, and a stop at the Valley Temple to learn how it fit into the royal burial rituals. You'll stand in front of the Great Sphinx and hear its story before heading to lunch: a traditional Egyptian meal at a restaurant the operator has selected. The Ultimate VIP option adds a 30-minute camel ride across the desert near the panoramic viewpoint and entry inside the Pyramid of Menkaure itself, so you experience the interior of an actual ancient monument instead of viewing it from outside.

Skip-the-line service is included, which means you move past the entrance queues. Complimentary bottled water comes with you throughout the day. The private vehicle and guide return you to your hotel or airport afterward, with no additional transportation fees. Children from age one are welcome. How long does the tour actually take?

The tour runs four to six hours depending on which option you choose and how much time you spend at each stop, since you set the pace with your private guide.

Is the camel ride included, or is it an add-on?
