The experience

The tour starts at Giza, where you'll walk the plateau with an Egyptologist who walks you through how the pyramids were built and what daily life looked like for the people who constructed them. You'll stand in front of the Sphinx, see the nine pyramids, and visit the tombs of the workers who built the Great Pyramid. The solar boat museum holds the largest reconstructed solar boat in Egypt: a vessel meant to carry the pharaoh in the afterlife. If you want it, you can add a camel ride to move through the desert the way ancient travelers did.

Memphis, the first capital of Egypt and home to the oldest pyramid ever built, comes next. You'll spend time there with your guide before heading to Saqqara. An air-conditioned vehicle moves you between all three sites, and lunch is provided: free if your group has six or more people. $10 per person for smaller groups or solo travelers.

The tour runs 4 to 8 hours depending on how long you spend at each stop. WiFi is available on board, and the vehicle is wheelchair accessible. All areas and surfaces at the sites are accessible as well. The guide speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and seven other languages, and hotel pickup is included.
