The experience

The day starts at the Giza Pyramids, where you'll stand in front of the Great Pyramid of Giza: the largest of the three main structures and a monument that has held its form for over 4,500 years. Your guide will walk you through the Pyramid of Khafre and explain the role of the Great Sphinx, the limestone guardian carved from a single rock and positioned to protect the necropolis. You'll also see the Pyramid of Menkaure and stop at a papyrus factory to learn how ancient Egyptians made paper from the plant itself.

Midway through the tour, you'll break for lunch at a local restaurant serving traditional Egyptian food. This gives you a chance to rest and experience the hospitality the region is known for before moving on to the second half of the day.
