The experience
The tour starts with airport pickup at 7:00 am or earlier and moves straight to Giza in a private air-conditioned vehicle. You'll have roughly three hours on the Giza Plateau to walk around the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, stand in front of the Great Sphinx, and visit the Valley Temple where the body of King Khafre was mummified. The guide points out the details: Khafre's complex includes a causeway and mortuary temple. Menkaure's has statues that were buried in a well for centuries. If you want to enter a pyramid or ride a camel around the plateau, those require separate tickets you can buy on the spot.
After Giza, you'll have lunch at a local Egyptian restaurant, then head to the Egyptian Museum. The collection spans over 5,000 years and holds more than 250,000 artifacts. The Tutankhamon exhibit alone (gold, jewelry and treasures buried for 3,500 years before excavation in the 1920s) takes up a dedicated section. You'll move through the museum with your guide explaining the pieces and their history.
Next is Khan el-Khalili Bazaar in central Cairo, where the narrow shops sell brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver and antiques. You have time to walk and browse before heading back to Giza for the Sound and Light show if that's the option you booked. The show runs after dark, then you're transferred back to Cairo airport for your departure.

Is this one for you?Choose the tour with the Sound and Light show if you want to see the pyramids lit up after dark and don't mind a longer day: the show adds evening hours but gives you the full Giza experience. Pick the tour without the show if you prefer to finish by early evening and skip the nighttime return to the plateau.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and Arabic.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (6 to 11 years); Infant (under 6): free.
How much time do I actually spend at the Giza Pyramids?
You have around three hours on the Giza Plateau to explore the three main pyramids, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple. That's enough to walk the sites and take photos, though entering inside a pyramid requires an extra ticket bought on the spot.
What's inside the Egyptian Museum that makes it worth a stop?
The Egyptian Museum holds over 250,000 artifacts dating back 5,000 years. The standout is the Tutankhamon exhibit: a collection of gold, jewelry and treasures that sat buried in his tomb for 3,500 years before archaeologists found it in the 1920s.
Can I skip the Sound and Light show and still do the rest of the tour?
Yes. You can book the tour without the show. The itinerary stays the same through the museum and bazaar, and you'll be transferred back to the airport after Khan el-Khalili instead of returning to Giza for the evening show.
What does lunch include?
Lunch is at a local Egyptian restaurant serving traditional Egyptian food. It's included in the tour price and happens between the Giza Pyramids visit and the Egyptian Museum.
Do I need to arrange my own way from the airport to the tour?
No. The tour includes pickup from Cairo International Airport at 7:00 am or earlier in a private air-conditioned vehicle, and drop-off back at the airport at the end of the day.
