The experience

The day starts with pickup from your Sharm El Sheikh hotel and transfer to the airport for a flight to Cairo. Your Egyptologist guide meets you at Cairo Airport and stays with you for the full day. The itinerary moves through the Egyptian Museum first, where you walk past 165,000 artifacts: the gilded coffins and death mask of King Tutankhamen are the centerpieces. From there, the tour reaches the Giza Pyramids and Great Sphinx, where you have free time to explore the grounds. Entering inside a pyramid costs extra if you want to go deeper.

Between the museum and the pyramids, you can choose to sail the Nile on a small boat and watch the city from the water before lunch, or skip that leg. Lunch is a buffet included in the price. The tour also includes a stop at a perfume factory and traditional papyrus institute, where you can watch papyrus being made and buy gifts. After the Sphinx, you drive back to Cairo Airport for the return flight to Sharm El Sheikh, where a driver transfers you back to your hotel. The full day runs about 12 hours from pickup to drop-off.

Your guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, German, or one of two other languages. Confirm which when you book. Bottled water is provided throughout the day. Dress code is smart casual, and a valid passport must be with you on the travel day. Children can join if accompanied by an adult. Child rates apply only when two adults are paying full price.
