The experience

The tour starts with hotel pickup timed to your flight. You'll fly from Sharm El Sheikh to Cairo in just over an hour, then meet your guide at Cairo Airport for the transfer to Giza. The Pyramids area gets a full 3 hours with your guide: you'll stop at the Great Pyramid of Cheops from the outside, enter one of Cheops' smaller pyramids, see the three pyramids in panoramic view, and visit the valley temple and Sphinx. A 30-minute stop at the Papyrus Institute follows, then lunch at a local restaurant before heading to the museum.

The Egyptian Museum takes 2 hours with your guide, who walks you through the ancient Egyptian history, royal artifacts, and the lives of kings and queens. You'll also visit the oils salon to learn about Egyptian culture. If you want to see the royal hall of mummies, let your guide know. Those tickets are available on the spot. After the museum, you're transferred back to Cairo Airport for the flight home, and your tour leader meets you at Sharm El Sheikh Airport for the final transfer to your hotel.

Your guide speaks English, Spanish, Italian, French, or one of two other languages, and the private van is air-conditioned throughout. Entrance fees to both the Pyramids area and the Egyptian Museum are included. The only add-ons are the interior entry to the Great Pyramid of Cheops and the royal mummies hall if you choose them, both paid on-site.
