ScubaDoo is an underwater scooter activity in Punta Cana where you ride a motorized device down 3 to 5 meters, breathing normally without a mask or snorkel, then snorkel at the El Niño dive site. The experience requires no prior diving or swimming ability. Round-trip transportation, all equipment, and a professional guide in English or Spanish are included. Children from age 5 are welcome.

The experience

Punta Cana's Cabeza de Toro coast is where this starts. A boat takes you to a floating platform, where a dive master introduces you to the ScubaDoo scooters. The core of what makes this different from traditional diving or snorkeling. You climb aboard, breathe normally (no mask, no snorkel), and ride down to 3 to 5 meters while the scooter does the work. At that depth, the colorful fish and coral formations are close enough to study without any of the usual underwater gear weight or learning curve.

After the scooter ride, you move to the famous El Niño dive site for snorkeling. A lifeguard guide stays with you as you swim among tropical fish and explore the coral reefs. The whole activity runs about four hours from pickup to return, and the boat ride itself gives you time to settle in and take in the Caribbean water before anything technical begins.
