The experience

Six to eight hours gives you time to move through Nicosia without rushing. The tour starts at Ancient Idalion, a weekday-only stop, then moves into the Old City to walk the Venetian Walls and pass through Famagusta Gate. You'll see the Liberty Monument and Archbishop's Palace, climb the Shacolas Tower Museum for views across the city, and spend an hour on Ledras Street itself: the main shopping strip that runs straight toward the checkpoint. The guide walks with you across the Ledras Checkpoint on foot, the only place in the city where you can cross from one side to the other as a civilian.

After the checkpoint crossing, you'll visit Faneromeni Church and break for lunch at a local tavern for about ninety minutes. The final stop is your choice: either the Cyprus Museum or the Tomb of Makedonitissa, each taking roughly an hour. Private transportation means the vehicle waits for you at each stop, and the air-conditioned interior matters when you're moving between sites in the heat.
