The experience
If you've got a free afternoon and want to see what lies below the surface without the training barrier of scuba, a Seabob cuts through that gap. The device resembles a small underwater jet ski. You hold on and it does the work, letting you move through the water like a dolphin while staying upright and in control. You get the depth and the closeness to marine life that snorkeling doesn't reach, but without the certification scuba demands.
The dive starts at Tugboat Beach on Curaçao's southeastern coast, near Caracasbaii. Your guide takes you out to a shipwreck that sits between Tugboat and Directors Bay, surrounded by coral formations that have grown around the wreck over time. Unlike snorkelers viewing the wreck from above, you descend close enough to see the reefs in detail. The area also drops into a diving wall (the underwater cliff that makes this spot famous among scuba divers), and the Seabob lets you explore both the shallow wreck and the wall's edge in a single hour. Your guide speaks English, Spanish, Portuguese, German or Dutch, and captures the moment with photos and video you'll receive within five to seven working days.
Safety is built into every step: your guide holds a PADI Divemaster certification and keeps groups to a maximum of three people so you get personalized attention throughout. The whole experience runs about an hour from start to finish.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish, German, Portuguese and Dutch.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What exactly is a Seabob and how does it work?
A Seabob is a handheld underwater jet ski that propels you through the water while you hold on. You steer it like you would a scooter, and it lets you move at depth and speed without the physical effort of swimming or freediving. No training is required: your guide shows you how to use it before you enter the water.
Can I see the shipwreck up close, or just from above?
The Seabob takes you down to the wreck itself, not just above it. You'll see the coral formations that have grown around the shipwreck and can explore the diving wall nearby, getting views snorkelers can't reach from the surface.
How many people go on this activity at once?
Groups stay under four people maximum, which means your PADI Divemaster guide can give you individual attention throughout the hour and adjust the pace to what you're comfortable with.
Do I get photos or video of the dive?
Yes. One photo and one video are included and captured by your guide during the activity. You'll receive the files within five to seven working days after your tour.
