The Experience

The day starts with pickup from your Dubrovnik hotel in an air-conditioned coach. The drive into Bosnia and Herzegovina takes you through rugged, mountainous terrain—towering peaks, river valleys, and dense greenery—before you arrive at Mostar, the most important city of Hercegovina. The Old Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the first thing you see: a magnificent stone arch spanning the emerald-green Neretva River. You'll have time to walk the cobbled streets of the old town, look at the architecture shaped by Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian rule, and browse the shops for souvenirs. Lunch is at one of the local restaurants; if you want a guided walking tour with a local guide to deepen the history, that can be arranged for a small additional fee.

After Mostar, the coach continues to Kravice Waterfalls, a series of cascading falls and pools set into lush forest and rocky cliffs. Unlike the more famous Plitvice Lakes, these waterfalls are smaller, less crowded, and easier to reach. You can swim in the crystal-clear water, walk the trails that wind through the surrounding meadows and dense forest, or simply sit and watch the water move. The area is home to a variety of plants and wildlife, and the whole setting feels removed from the tourist circuits.

The return journey to Dubrovnik takes you back through the same mountain passes. The full day, including all driving time, runs nine hours. WiFi is available on board, and the vehicle is air-conditioned throughout.
