The Experience

The day starts with pickup from your Dubrovnik hotel and a drive south along the coast, crossing the Pelješac bridge and opening into the Neretva valley. A honey tasting stop breaks the journey before you reach the border crossing into Bosnia and Herzegovina. Kravica Waterfalls sits 25 miles south of Mostar—a 25-meter tufa cascade on the Trebižat River with a 390-foot-radius pool at its base. You get 90 minutes here to swim, wade or simply sit by the water; bring a swimsuit and a towel.

From the waterfall, it's about 40 minutes to Mostar, the fifth-largest city in the country and home to the Stari Most, a 16th-century Ottoman bridge that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The bridge gave the city its name—mostari means bridge keepers. You have three hours free in Mostar to walk the Old Bridge Area, eat lunch along the Neretva River, and explore the narrow streets. The driver stays with the group and speaks English or Spanish throughout the day, and the van includes air conditioning and comfort stops on both legs of the drive.

This is a long day—a minimum of six hours on the road—but the small-group format (up to eight people) means the pace stays manageable and the van does not feel crowded. A current valid passport is required to cross the border. The waterfall entrance is 10€ per person, cash only, and is not included in the tour price; Mostar has a separate 2€ tourist tax per person if you choose to pay it.
