The experience
The day starts with the zipline: twelve cables strung across a canyon, plus a rappel descent and a tarzan swing that drops you toward the canopy. After that comes the river, five kilometers of tubing down Rio Colorado, moving at the current's pace through the landscape. You're in the water for the whole stretch, so wear clothes that can get wet and bring a change for later.
Horseback riding follows through the volcano's primary forest, a slower pace after the water. Then the hot springs at Rio Negro: natural thermal pools fed by volcanic heat, and a mud bath you can walk into. Lunch is organic (rice, beans, vegetables and salad) served somewhere in the middle of the day. An air-conditioned vehicle picks you up from your hotel and brings you back when it's over, so you don't arrange transport yourself.
The whole thing runs nine hours. A live guide leads the group in English or Spanish and stays with you through each activity. Children from age 4 can join, though the operator notes the day is not suitable for anyone with spinal injuries, pregnancy, or cardiovascular concerns that would make sustained physical activity risky.

Is this one for you?The nine-hour commitment means you lose most of a day, so book this when you have nothing else planned for that morning and afternoon. If you want to see the hot springs but need time for other activities, ask about shorter options when you book. This one is built around doing everything at once.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and Spanish.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Infant (4 to 9 years). Children under 4 can't be included in the booking.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is the canyon zipline like?
The zipline crosses a canyon on twelve separate cables, each one a descent through the air. After the cables, you rappel down the rock face itself, then swing on a tarzan rope toward the trees below.
How does the river tubing work?
Rio Colorado tubing covers five kilometers downstream, so you float on the current for the whole distance rather than paddling or being towed. The pace is set by the river, and you stay in the water the entire time.
What should I bring for the water activities?
Wear clothes that can get soaked (shorts and a shirt you don't mind wet), and bring a dry change for after tubing. The guide and the vehicle will have you covered for the rest, but packing a second outfit means you're not damp for the horseback riding and hot springs that follow.
What does lunch include?
Lunch is organic and served during the day: rice, beans, vegetables and salad. It is included in the price, so you don't need to arrange or pay for food separately.
